Important Deadline Information and "Letter of Intent" Submission Instructions: 

The deadline to submit your Letter of Intent is March 1, 2008.

1-Send an e-mail to notify us that you will be submitting your Letter of Intent.  In your e-mail, include the Wrestler's Name, D/O/B, Weight Class, and Contact Information.

Other Important Information:

-Names of those interested in each weight class will be posted on the website when contacts are made aware of their interest.

-The Wrestle Offs for the Middle School National team will be at 2pm on Sunday, Feb 24th at the Team Cabarrus practice facility:

North Carolina AAU Wrestling has sponsored one team for the National AAU Wrestling Middle School Duals in the past.  The goal this year is to send a team again this year but to also have a second team to represent North Carolina AAU Wrestling in other MS events.  More information will be communicated on these events as available.

 

Event:                     National AAU Wrestling Middle School Dual Team Tournament

                              (32 Teams across the Nation are accepted to participate)

 

Date:                      April 11-13, 2008

 

Location:                Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa

 

Entry Fee:               Team Entry Fee is paid by NC AAU Wrestling Association

 

Participation Fee:    To be determined. (Estimate approximately $60) (This fee is used to purchase team singlets for the wrestlers which they will keep)

 

Weigh-in:                5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Simpson College, Indianola, IA.  Weigh-ins will be administered by team.  Wresters must be in a singlet to weigh-in.

 

Competition:           Competition begins Saturday and Sunday mornings.

 

Awards:                 Top 8 teams will receive team awards.  Consolation bracket Champions will also receive team awards.  National AAU Championship Medals will be awarded to team members and those individuals who have wrestled a minimum of six matches and have 3 losses or less. 

 

Transportation &

Accommodations:   Details to be provided after team selection.

 

Team:                     20 weight classes:  75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, and 250 lbs. 

(5 Alternates possible but there is no guarantee of matches.)

 

                              Competitors must be enrolled in either grades 6th – 8th and NOT turn 16 in 2008 to be eligible.

 

                              Each participant must provide proof of age and grade.

 

Eligibility:            1)   Be a resident of North Carolina with an AAU Card

2)      Participate in at least 3 NC AAU Wrestling Tournaments

3)      Make known interest to participate by Letter of Intent

4)      Be available for required wrestle offs and commit to attend Event.
